Overview
As the VP, New Business Development, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive new business strategy to drive revenue growth for the agency. Reporting directly to the CRO, you will spearhead all aspects of the sales process, from identifying and qualifying leads to building senior executive relationships, crafting compelling proposals with the team, and closing deals. You will operate as a player-coach, owning your book of Enterprise advertisers while leaning in to support the broader new business team on opportunities. This is a high-impact role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship building, and sales expertise.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a data-driven new business strategy aligned with agency goals and market trends
- Identify, qualify, and proactively pitch new business opportunities across target verticals
- Lead the sales process, from initial outreach to proposal development and closing deals
- Craft compelling RFP responses in partnership with senior strategy and planning teams, including proactive pitches for new business prospects
- Manage and mentor a team of sales representatives
- Build strong relationships with potential brand clients at the most senior levels of their organizations
- Stay current on industry trends and competitor activity
- Build and deliver persuasive presentations that showcase the agency's value proposition
- Develop and manage the new business budget in partnership with the leadership team
- Analyze data and track new business pipeline to measure success and identify areas for improvement
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the audio media industry, ideally with agency and/or network experience
- Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and driving revenue growth
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of the audio media landscape and its various offerings
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for audio storytelling and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
